CIAC is proud to be advancing efforts to support the UN SDGs in their role as a universal translator of sustainability across different industries, organizations, and even countries.
From basic human rights, like clean water and reduced inequalities, to innovative technologies related to clean energy and climate change, CIAC and its members are at the forefront of sustainable development solutions. By linking our performance with the eight key UN SDG identified throughout this report and their targets, we can bring more congruency to the sustainability conversation broadly and generate a more harmonized effort across the globe to advance chemistry solutions.
In particular, the Canadian Federal Sustainable Development Act, which was enshrined in legislation in December 2020, and the 2022-2026 Federal Sustainable Development Strategy that is currently in development both serve as important roadmaps that will guide harmonized efforts towards advancing these shared goals for the chemistry industry in Canada and internationally. We look forward to continued collaboration with governments, industries, and other organizations to bring us to a sustainable 2030 and beyond.
